This firm, Vertinsky, is a prominent Russian entertainment figure from the early 20th century. Aleksandr Nikolaevich Vertinsky (1889-1957) was an estrada artist, film actor, composer, poet, and singer, known as a Russian cabaret icon and a Stalin Prize laureate of the second degree. He began his successful film career in 1912, appearing in films such as "King Without a Crown," "From Slavery to Freedom," and "What Makes People Live." However, only about thirty of his over one hundred songs were allowed for performance in the Soviet Union. Vertinsky was born in Kyiv and died in Leningrad. There is also a person named Anatoliy Ilich Vertinsky, born in 1931, in Belarus. Some of Vertinsky's poems have been set to music
