Their research focuses on fundamental and applied studies in the creation of thin-film and nanostructured organic materials, new composite materials with specified properties, and methods of synthesizing new organic compounds as potential pharmaceutical substances. The institute has collaborations with Hewlett Packard (USA) and the Hong Kong University, China, for the creation of new small-scale composite materials (composite materials for plastic cards, optical bleachers, SOJs based on reclaimed turpentine and pitch, UV-curable adhesives) for a combined total of $72,000 USD. The institute also has contracts with
